Green Investment Becomes Key to Accelerating Renewable Energy Projects
Strengthening access to financing is one of the keys to accelerating the realisation of new and renewable energy (EBT) projects in Indonesia. A number of projects that have entered the development stage need to be pushed through to construction and operation through adequate investment support.
The General Chairman of the Indonesian Renewable Energy Society (METI), Norman Ginting, stated that accelerating projects requires closer collaboration between developers, technology providers, and policymakers. According to him, several renewable energy projects developed by METI members are now moving towards the construction and operation phases.
“Many renewable energy projects from METI members are now moving towards construction and operation,” said Norman during the launch of The 12th IndoEBTKE ConEx 2026 on Monday (31/8/2026).
To encourage project financing, The 12th IndoEBTKE ConEx 2026 brings together project developers with both national and international financial institutions. The meeting is directed towards opening access to financing for renewable energy projects that are ready to enter the construction and operation stages.
The Secretary General of METI and Chairperson of the Organizing Committee for The 12th IndoEBTKE ConEx 2026, Elvi Nasution, stated that investment needs to be precisely directed to support the acceleration of renewable energy and new energy (EBTKE) projects. The forum brings together project developers with potential investors and financing partners.
“Through The 12th IndoEBTKE ConEx 2026, we are bringing project developers together with national and international financial institutions, so that the flow of green investment into Indonesia becomes more robust and well-targeted,” explained Elvi.
Meetings between developers and potential investors are also facilitated through a networking hub within the event series. This facility serves as a space for project developers to meet directly with potential investors and financing partners.
The 12th IndoEBTKE ConEx 2026 will take place from 2–4 September 2026 at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta. The forum brings together the government, industry players, investors, academics, and development partners from various countries to discuss the development of the EBTKE sector.
A total of 22 companies are participating as sponsors and exhibitors, showcasing technologies in solar, wind, bioenergy, geothermal, energy storage, and energy efficiency.
It is hoped that the meeting between developers, financial institutions, and stakeholders will result in financing collaborations that can drive renewable energy projects from the development stage through to construction and operation.
