Green Industry Award 2026 Registration Open Until 9 September, Here Are the Three Categories
The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) is still accepting registrations for the 2026 Green Industry Award until 9 September 2026. The award programme provides three categories to appreciate industrial companies and regional governments committed to implementing green industry principles.
Registration, which has been open since 23 July 2026, is carried out through the National Industrial Information System (SIINas). After registration closes, Kemenperin has scheduled the assessment process and winner determination for September 2026.
Head of the Industrial Services Standardisation and Policy Agency (BSKJI) Emmy Suryandari invited industrial companies that meet the requirements to register immediately. “We invite industrial companies that meet the criteria to take advantage of this opportunity and participate in the 2026 Green Industry Award. Industrial participation is very important to show that Indonesia’s manufacturing sector has a strong commitment to resource efficiency and sustainability,” said Emmy.
Emmy explained that Kemenperin has established three categories in the 2026 Green Industry Award. The categories cover companies that have implemented green industry standards, companies that are undergoing transformation, and regional governments.
- Best Performance in Green Industry Implementation
The first category is intended for industrial companies that already hold a Green Industry Certificate. Assessment focuses on the company’s performance in consistently implementing green industry principles.
- Transformation Towards Green Industry
The second category is for industrial companies that do not yet have a Green Industry Standard but have carried out transformation in their production processes. These efforts include improving the efficiency and effectiveness of resource use on an ongoing basis.
- Regional Government with Best Green Industry Implementation
The third category is awarded to regional governments deemed to have a strong commitment to encouraging green industry implementation through policy and institutional support.
“Through these three categories, we want to provide appreciation while expanding the ecosystem of green industry implementation. Green industry transformation requires the involvement of industrial companies as well as support from regional governments so that implementation can become stronger and more evenly distributed,” said Emmy.
Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita emphasised that implementing green industry is not only related to fulfilling environmental aspects. According to him, resource use efficiency and the implementation of sustainable production processes are also long-term business and investment strategies.
“Transformation towards green industry is a necessity. Industries that are able to use resources more efficiently, reduce emissions and waste, and implement sustainable production processes will have increasingly strong competitiveness,” said Agus in his statement in Jakarta, Friday (28/8/2026).
Agus said that changes in global trade and investment direction make sustainability aspects increasingly important. Therefore, national industry needs to improve its capabilities to meet market demands while seizing opportunities from the growing need for sustainably produced products.
“We want Indonesian industry to be not only competitive in terms of price and quality, but also superior in sustainability aspects. With green industry, we can improve production efficiency while strengthening the position of Indonesian manufacturing products in the global supply chain,” he said.
The Green Industry Award has been organised by Kemenperin since 2010. Up to 2025, the programme has provided appreciation to more than 1,100 industrial companies from various manufacturing sectors.
Agus appreciated companies that have invested and implemented more efficient and environmentally friendly production processes. “We appreciate companies that have shown commitment and made real investments to run increasingly efficient and environmentally friendly production processes,” he said.
Kemenperin hopes that the 2026 Green Industry Award will encourage more companies to integrate economic, environmental, and social aspects in their business activities. Optimising resource use is also expected to strengthen the resilience of national industry while increasing the competitiveness of Indonesian manufacturing products in both domestic and global markets.
