Energy Transformation & Eco-Innovation Drive Efficiency and Emission Reduction
In its operations, the company has undertaken various breakthroughs through the Eco-Innovation programme, focusing on energy transformation and production process efficiency.
One of the main steps is the transition of energy use from solar (diesel) to electricity based on PLN REC as well as the utilisation of green electricity furnace technology.
In addition, the company has also converted technology from reverberatory furnaces to electric furnaces, replacing fossil fuel-based fuel burners with electric systems, and optimising the use of overhead cranes to reduce reliance on fuel-powered forklifts.
This transformation has had a significant impact on environmental performance and operational efficiency.
As part of its commitment to carbon economic value, the company has also taken initial steps through a carbon trading scheme by purchasing 1,000 kg of CO₂ equivalent registered in the National Climate Change Control Registry System (SRN PPI).
On the energy side, the company has integrated the use of REC electricity and B35 biodiesel as part of its strategy to transition to cleaner energy.
Social Innovation and Community Empowerment Based on Circular Economy
Not only focusing on environmental aspects, the company also implements social innovation through the ARSARI Programme, which is oriented towards community empowerment based on a circular economy.
This programme utilises coconut waste to produce valuable products such as biochar and liquid smoke through closed combustion-based retort technology.
Through this programme, the company has successfully formed four community groups with an average income increase ranging from Rp1.5 million to Rp1.9 million per month. In addition, this programme has also contributed to emission reductions from 115 tonnes to 35 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent and supports the rehabilitation of a 72-hectare watershed area.
In the social aspect, the company also runs the TAMASYA Programme, which focuses on child and family development. This programme includes TPA coaching, certified caregiver training, child growth monitoring, parenting classes, and collaboration with local health centres for health services.
Overall, these various initiatives demonstrate the integration of environmental, economic, and social aspects.
