Green business group formed

JAKARTA (JP): Thirty-five businessmen and several other
parties have set up an association to raise environmental
awareness in the business community and among the general public.

The People's Movement for Environment Preservation (Gerakan
Masyarakat Pelestari Lingkungan Hidup) is chaired by A. Hafied
Moerdani and his deputy, Anton Avianto Mochtar.

Hafied said the Movement will set up a foundation called the
Yayasan Bina Lingkungan to manage funds from a number of
businesses owned by its members. One is a refinery in the Pinrang
regency, South Sulawesi.

The Foundation will receive five to 10 percent of profits made
by members of the Movement, Hafied said. Interested investors
must comply with the Foundation's minimum pollution guidelines.

Among the nine members of the Movement's national coordination
board is Taufik Dwicahyono Try Sutrisno, son of the vice
