Great River's profits up

JAKARTA (JP): Publicly-listed clothes producer PT Great River International has reported a 106 percent increase in net profits to Rp 19.6 billion (US$8.28 million) for the third quarter of this year over the same period last year.

Great River announced Tuesday its revenue had increased 34 percent over the corresponding periods to Rp 166 billion.

The company plans to invest Rp 160 billion to produce, distribute and retail clothing in the 1996/1997 fiscal year.

The company on Monday opened its newest plant, a sock plant, operated by PT Gunze Socks Indonesia, a joint venture with Gunze Limited of Japan. (rid)
