Great River considers IPO
SINGAPORE (Reuter): Indonesian clothing company PT Great River
International said yesterday it might consider listing its shares
in Singapore in the future.
Great River president director Sunjoto Tanudjaja told a news
conference the company was expanding very fast in Indonesia and
into Southeast Asian markets.
Asked if he would consider an initial public offering (IPO) in
Singapore, as many other regional companies have done over the
last few years, Sunjoto replied:
"It is always a possibility when we are growing in Southeast
Asia at this pace to consider that."
Great River earlier announced it had bought Ray Summers, a
private Singapore-based firm with non-exclusive licenses to
distribute and sell Walt Disney Co's products in Singapore, Hong
Kong, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and the Middle East.
