Grant Injection of Rp3.3 Billion Boosts Modernisation of PMI DIY Medical Equipment

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, YOGYAKARTA – The Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) branches in districts and cities throughout DIY have received a medical equipment grant totalling Rp3.3 billion. This assistance not only strengthens medical facilities but also introduces various modern devices that will support health services and emergency handling across all PMI clinics in DIY.

Deputy Governor of DIY and Chairman of the Honorary Board of PMI DIY, KGPAA Paku Alam X, handed over the grant. This aid is the result of collaboration between PMI Central, the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF), and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), with support from the Japanese Red Cross.

Paku Alam X emphasised that the availability of adequate medical facilities is a key factor in responding to the community’s health emergency needs. According to him, this update of facilities must be accompanied by improvements in the quality of broader and more professional services.

“With the increasing completeness of available health facilities and equipment, we hope that PMI Clinics in DIY can provide more optimal, professional services and reach a wider community in need,” said Paku Alam X in his statement on Tuesday (14/4/2026).

The total aid of Rp3,345,293,217 was distributed in three phases: Phase I amounting to Rp642,197,000, Phase II Rp1,588,354,217, and Phase III Rp1,114,742,000. In terms of equipment types, the grant includes several important and technologically advanced medical devices, among them electrocardiogram (EKG) devices for cardiovascular examinations, two-dimensional ultrasound (USG) to support medical diagnosis, and Automated External Defibrillator (AED), which is crucial in handling sudden cardiac arrest.
