Grandfather Arrested for Allegedly Molesting 32 Elementary School Students in Makassar

A grandfather with the initials MD (60) has been arrested for allegedly molesting 32 elementary school students in Makassar, South Sulawesi. The abuse reportedly took place when the victims were shopping at the suspect’s shop. The suspect is a shop owner whose premises is located in front of the school. The case emerged following reports from the victims’ parents. The Women and Children Protection Unit (UPTD PPA) of the Makassar City Government initially received reports of three victims, but the number grew to 32 students following further investigation and meetings with parents and teachers. The Head of the Women and Children Protection Unit at the Makassar City Police, Iptu Ariyanto, confirmed the suspect has been detained since Friday (17/7) after being named a suspect.
