Grand Ruwatan Ceremony for Soekarno Held in Kediri

Residents carried a mountain of agricultural produce during a cultural parade and the Grand Ruwatan Soekarno ceremony at Bung Karno’s childhood home in Ndalem Pojok, Kediri Regency, East Java, on Sunday (14/6/2026). The event was held to commemorate the change of Bung Karno’s childhood name from Koesno to Soekarno, as well as to honour the services of the nation’s heroes in fighting for the Republic of Indonesia. Residents also carried a statue of Soekarno and installed a stone inscription to inaugurate the statue of young Soekarno.
