PARIS (AFP): The Indonesian and Portuguese grands prix have been removed from this year's calendar, the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) announced Monday.
The Indonesian race, initially planned for April 19, will be replaced by the Malaysian Grand Prix, which was originally scheduled for March 29. The race will be held in Johor.
The Portuguese race in Estoril, provisionally scheduled for June 14, will be replaced by a grand prix to be announced at a later date.
The new calendar is:
April 5: Japanese Grand Prix (Suzuka)
April 19: Malaysian Grand Prix (Johor)
May 3: Spanish Grand Prix (Jerez)
May 17: Italian Grand Prix (Mugello)
May 31: French Grand Prix (Le Castellet)
June 14: To be announced
June 27: Dutch Grand Prix (Assen)
July 5: British Grand Prix (Donington)
July 19: German Grand Prix (Sachsenring)
Aug. 23: Czech Grand Prix (Brno)
Sept. 6: Imola Grand Prix (Imola)
Sept. 20: Catalunya Grand Prix (Barcelona)
Oct. 4: Australian Grand Prix (Philip Island)
Oct. 18: Brazilian Grand Prix (Jacarepagua)
Oct. 25: Argentine Grand Prix (Buenos Aires)
