Gran Max Demand in Cirebon Rises, Driven by Free Nutritious Meal Programme
CIREBON — Demand for Daihatsu Gran Max commercial vehicles in the Cirebon region has experienced significant growth in recent months. This sales surge has been largely driven by the need for operational vehicles to support the National Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme.
Astra Daihatsu Cirebon’s Branch Manager Rindi Kusumah Atmadja stated that vehicle demand, particularly for the Gran Max model, has increased substantially as the vehicle is widely used for logistics and business distribution purposes.
“Demand for Gran Max in the Cirebon region has increased quite significantly since last year. Currently, vehicle waiting periods can reach two to three months due to high demand,” Rindi said during a Daifit meeting in Cirebon Regency on Monday, 9 March 2026.
“Some buyers have already placed orders in advance, even though the kitchens or business premises to be used for the MBG programme have not yet been completed. So the vehicles are prepared early for operations,” Rindi added.
The high demand has resulted in a growing order queue. Currently, there are approximately 60 units on order for the Pick Up Box type and 65 units for the Blind Van type, bringing the total pending orders in the Cirebon region to approximately 125–126 units.
Beyond the order backlog, the increased demand is also reflected in monthly sales figures. Average Gran Max sales, which previously stood at approximately 34 units per month in 2024, increased to approximately 47 units per month in 2025.
This rise in monthly sales has driven an increase in cumulative sales through the end of 2025. The continuing upward sales trend over recent months has resulted in total annual sales in the Cirebon region being recorded as higher than in previous periods.
