Graft probe starts in South Sulawesi
MAKASSAR, South Sulawesi: South Sulawesi provincial police have started investigating a Rp 18.23 billion (US$ 1.9 million) graft case in which provincial councillors and government officials could be implicated, a senior police officer said on Wednesday.
South Sulawesi Police chief Insp. Gen. Saleh Saaf said the provincial council secretary and four local government officials had been questioned in relation to the case.
"They were questioned as witnesses," said Saleh, adding that the questioning had started on June 19. -- JP
