Gradiant Wins Large-Scale Water Contract for Massive AI Data Centre Complex in West Texas

As the capacity of AI data centres increases to meet computing demands, water has become one of the most significant constraints in determining the location and construction speed of new facilities. This is particularly evident in West Texas, where one of the largest AI infrastructure development projects in the country is being built in a region with limited water resources.

Gradiant, a water services provider for the AI economy, announced today a new contract to provide a complete package of ready-to-use water and wastewater systems for a massive AI data centre complex being developed by one of the world’s largest technology companies. As the sole responsible partner, Gradiant will manage both potable water supply and wastewater treatment. This project expands Gradiant’s growing portfolio in deploying water infrastructure to support next-generation AI data centres.

This achievement enriches Gradiant’s data centre portfolio built around HyperSolved, its integrated cooling water platform for AI data centres, which combines treatment technology, CURE Chemicals, and SmartOps. The project supports an ongoing multi-billion dollar AI-based investment in the United States and reflects the increasing demand for integrated water solutions capable of supporting massive-scale development in regions with limited water supplies.

“Water-scarce regions are where the next wave of massive growth will occur, and most operators have no way to enter them,” said Prakash Govund, CEO of Gradiant. “We provide the solution for them. This project demonstrates that large-scale companies can build infrastructure in these markets without water becoming a barrier to them.”

“This project leverages Gradiant’s track record in data centre construction amidst the tightest schedules and most severe water supply constraints we have ever faced, supported by the presence we have built in Texas,” said Nish Vora, Managing Director for the Americas at Gradiant. “We are providing complete water and wastewater systems for the site, designed to ensure no discharge into surface waters, with a construction schedule that leaves no room for delays.”

The zero-surface-discharge design implemented in this project serves as a blueprint for next-generation AI infrastructure. As large-scale companies expand into regions increasingly facing water scarcity, this demonstrates how increasing AI computing capacity and responsible water management can go hand in hand, creating a model for future development worldwide.
