Grace Reveals Accelerated Preparations Ahead of Jokowi Officially Donning PSI Jacket

Deputy Chair of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Board of Trustees, Grace Natalie, has revealed that Indonesia’s 7th President, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), will soon officially don the PSI jacket as Chairman of the party’s Board of Trustees. Jokowi is also known as the father of PSI Chairman Kaesang Pangarep and Indonesian Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka. Grace stated that ahead of Jokowi officially wearing the PSI jacket, the party is accelerating the completion of its management structure down to the village and sub-district level across Indonesia in preparation for the upcoming party verification process. According to Grace, the acceleration of the organisational structure is necessary so that the party machinery can immediately move once Jokowi formally appears as Chairman of the PSI Board of Trustees. “So PSI nationally, in all provincial executive boards, must complete the structure down to the village and sub-district level. Not only in NTT, this is happening simultaneously in other regions as well because next year we will enter verification, and we are completing it soon. So that the Chairman of the Board of Trustees can formally wear the PSI jacket and engage with the community,” Grace said during a visit to Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), on Saturday (13/6). Regarding NTT specifically, she assessed that the preparations made by PSI administrators in the province were already progressing well. However, several refinements are still needed before Jokowi’s arrival in the region. “The preparations from our colleagues in NTT are already very good. Just a little bit more, but we want it to be perfect so that when the Chairman of the Board of Trustees officially joins, everything is ready and the party machinery can hit the ground running,” said the woman who previously served as PSI Chairwoman. Grace added that the party structure overhaul is not only being carried out in NTT but is taking place simultaneously across all regions of Indonesia. Previously, Jokowi was scheduled to visit several regions in Indonesia after officially joining the PSI structure. NTT is said to be the first region to be visited by the former president in this series of agendas.
