Grace Natalie Responds to PSI Daily Chairman's Statement on Not Providing Legal Assistance

JAKARTA - The Secretary of the Board of Patrons of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), Grace Natalie, has responded to the statement by the Daily Chairman of the PSI’s Central Executive Board (DPP), Ahmad Ali, who said the party would not provide her with legal assistance following her report in the case of alleged incitement and hate speech against the 10th and 12th Vice President, Jusuf Kalla (JK).

Grace emphasised that the statement was made at her request.

“When there was a statement from Daily Chairman Ahmad Ali last week, I want to convey that his statement was based on my request as the party’s founder,” said Grace in Menteng, Jakarta, on Monday (11/5/2026).

The content she posted was based on her personal initiative.

“I posted that content as a citizen responding to a viral issue. Therefore, as the party’s founder, I instructed the Daily Chairman, in this case Bang Ahmad Ali, not to involve the party,” she said.

Grace is also confident that no laws were violated in the content.

“I uploaded the material on my personal social media as a citizen, and I am confident, optimistic, that there is no legal violation there, so it has nothing to do with PSI, and the statement is perfectly normal,” she said.

Ade Armando, Permadi Arya, and politician Grace Natalie were reported to the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri) regarding a video of Jusuf Kalla’s (JK) lecture.

The police report was filed by around 40 combined community organisations (ormas).

The report was made because the three are alleged to have created content that steered negative opinions about JK.

The reported individuals are said to have edited the content of JK’s lecture at Gadjah Mada University (UGM).
