Jakarta – Deputy Chairman of the Board of Patrons of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), Grace Natalie, has finally spoken out regarding the police report stemming from the controversy over a clipped video of the 10th and 12th Vice President, Jusuf Kalla (JK). Grace emphasised that the video she uploaded was created in her personal capacity as a member of the public, not representing PSI’s official position. Therefore, she directly asked PSI’s Daily Chairman, Ahmad Ali, not to drag the party’s name into the matter. “As the party founder, I have instructed the Daily Chairman, in this case Bang Ahmad Ali, not to involve the party,” said Grace Natalie on Monday, 11 May 2026. According to Grace, the video upload from the outset was intended as a personal response to a viral public issue. She believes the matter should not be linked to the party institution. “I made that post as a citizen responding to a viral issue. Therefore, as the party founder, I have instructed the Daily Chairman, in this case Bang Ahmad Ali, not to involve the party,” she stated. Grace admitted she needed to provide clarification due to various interpretations emerging in society, including from PSI constituents, regarding Ahmad Ali’s previous statements. “So, because I received many messages from constituents, for example, from the public interpreting the news in all sorts of ways, I think I must explain so that it’s a pity for Bang Daily Chairman; his explanation is being interpreted differently,” she said. She also reiterated that Ahmad Ali was merely following her instructions to separate the issue from party affairs. “In fact, it was I who requested it; I instructed the Daily Chairman because I uploaded the material on my social media as a private citizen,” she explained. Grace also assured that she is optimistic there is no element of legal violation in the video upload. She asked the public not to link the issue to PSI as a political party. “And I am confident, optimistic that there is no legal violation there, so it has nothing to do with PSI, and his statement is perfectly normal,” Grace remarked.
