Jakarta – Grace Natalie, Secretary of the Board of Patrons of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), has emphasised that she has no personal issues with the 10th and 12th Vice President, Jusuf Kalla (JK).

Grace also expressed her openness to engaging in direct discussions with Jusuf Kalla.

She made these remarks in response to a video content featuring her reaction to Jusuf Kalla’s sermon, which led to a police report at the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri).

“Of course, I am open to discussions. I have never had any problems with Mr JK personally. My statements were also quite normal,” Grace told reporters in the Menteng area, Central Jakarta, on Monday, 11 May 2026.

Although open and willing to meet, Grace noted that there has been no communication established between her and Jusuf Kalla so far.

“So far, no, but if he is open, then let’s do it. I have never had any issues with Mr JK. It has also been quite a while since I last met him. I have never had any problems. Friends can check my personal track record; I have never had any issues with Mr JK,” she added.

Previously, it was reported that the polemic surrounding an edited video of the sermon by Indonesia’s 10th and 12th Vice President, Jusuf Kalla (JK), has entered a new phase. Dozens of Islamic mass organisations united under the Alliance of Islamic Organisations for Religious Harmony have officially reported several figures to Bareskrim Polri.

The three names reported are Ade Armando, Permadi Arya, and Grace Natalie. The report has been registered under number LP/B/185/V/2026/SPKT/BARESKRIM POLRI, dated 4 May 2026.

Gurun Arisastra, representative of the complainants from LBH Syarikat Islam/SEMMI, affirmed that this legal action was taken after they deemed there to be narratives misleading the public.

“I, Gurun Ari Sastra, am one of the complainants in this case from the Legal Aid Institute of the Indonesian Muslim Students’ Association and the Legal Aid Institute of Syarikat Islam, along with LBH Muhammadiyah, Hidayatullah, AFKN, and other organisations, have reported three figures: Ade Armando, then Permadi Arya, and also Grace Natalie,” he told reporters, as quoted on Tuesday, 5 May 2026.

According to him, the issue stemmed from the circulation of a video of JK’s sermon that was only partially shown, thus triggering perceptions deemed incomplete in society.
