Grace Natalie Believes Upload Regarding JK Involves No Legal Violations

Secretary of the PSI Patronage Council, Grace Natalie, is convinced that there is no legal violation in her action of uploading a video related to the 10th and 12th Vice President Jusuf Kalla (JK) on her personal account. Grace stated that JK’s statement during a lecture at UGM has already sparked pros and cons. Grace claimed she only uploaded her opinion regarding JK’s statement. “In that video of mine, I did not upload or repost Mr JK’s video, I also did not cut or edit it. So I was just responding to Mr JK’s video, where I saw that there was already a lot of controversy circulating in society,” said Grace during a press conference on Monday (11/5). Grace said that in her upload, she opined that JK’s statement was prone to being misused by groups wanting to legitimise violence. She claimed to be ready to take responsibility for her action of uploading the video. “Once again, I did not upload, did not cut, did not edit, nor repost it. Therefore, I am optimistic that there is no legal violation there,” she said. On that occasion, she stated that the report against her is not related to the party. She mentioned that the statement by PSI Daily Chairman Ahmad Ali, who said he would not provide legal assistance, was at her request. “When there was a statement from Daily Chairman Ahmad Ali last week. So I want to convey that his statement was based on my request as the party founder,” said Grace. Grace was previously reported along with her colleague Ade Armando and social media activist Permadi Arya. The report was accepted and registered with number LP/B/185/V/2026/SPKT/Bareskrim Polri dated 4 May 2026. The report was filed by 40 Islamic mass organisations united in the Alliance for Religious Harmony. Representative of LBH Syarikat Islam/SEMMI, Gurun Arisastra, stated that the reporting was related to the polemic narrative included in each upload regarding excerpts of the lecture video by the 10th and 12th Vice President Jusuf Kalla (JK) at the UGM Mosque while explaining the conflict in Poso and Ambon. “LBH Serikat Mahasiswa Muslimin Indonesia and LBH Syarikat Islam along with LBH Muhammadiyah, Hidayatullah, AFKN and other organisations have reported three figures: Ade Armando, then Permadi Arya, and also Grace Natalie,” said Gurun Arisastra to reporters at Bareskrim Polri, South Jakarta.
