Grab Ready to Collaborate with Government on Presidential Regulation 27/2026
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Grab Indonesia platform, a provider of app-based transportation services, has stated its readiness to review and collaborate with the government regarding the reduction of revenue deductions taken by applicator companies from online motorcycle drivers to eight per cent.
This follows Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 27 of 2026, which was signed and announced by President Prabowo Subianto during the International Labour Day/May Day commemoration at the National Monument in Jakarta on Friday.
“We will collaborate with the government and relevant stakeholders to strive to implement this change, ensuring that the policy achieves its objectives in protecting driver partners, while maintaining affordable prices for consumers and the sustainability of the industry,” said Grab Indonesia CEO Neneng Goenadi in a statement confirmed by ANTARA in Jakarta on Friday.
Neneng stated that her company respects the guidance delivered by President Prabowo Subianto in his 2026 International Labour Day speech.
“As a long-term partner in Indonesia’s economic growth, we remain committed to supporting the government’s vision in improving societal welfare,” she said.
She continued that Grab Indonesia is still awaiting the official issuance of Perpres No. 27 of 2026 to review and study the details of the guidance further.
“Since our first day in Indonesia, Grab Indonesia has accompanied millions of driver partners and SMEs in developing the digital economy, as well as supporting their livelihoods and families, which has always been our priority,” said Neneng.
Previously, President Prabowo had signed Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 27 of 2026 to reduce the revenue deduction taken by applicator companies from online motorcycle drivers to eight per cent.
“I say here, I do not agree with 10 per cent, it must be below 10 per cent,” he said.
The President emphasised that this policy is taken to defend the rights of online motorcycle drivers (ojol) who work hard every day and risk their lives on the roads.
According to him, the revenue-sharing scheme that has been in place so far still does not provide justice for the drivers.
Prabowo mentioned that previously, applicator companies demanded a contribution or deduction of 20 per cent from drivers’ income.
Through this new regulation, the government sets a much lower new standard to increase the net income of online transportation workers.
