Jakarta (ANTARA) - App-based transport service company Grab Indonesia is inviting its corporate partners, including motorbike taxi drivers and merchants, to synergise for growth.

As part of the 81st Indonesian Independence Day celebrations, Grab Indonesia Chief Executive Officer Neneng Goenadi said that independence provides an opportunity to keep developing.

“We interpret that independence does not stop at the freedom we have today, but independence also provides an opportunity to continue developing, making choices, and fighting for the future we want,” she said at the launch of GrabAcademy in Jakarta on Tuesday.

She said that partners have expressed their desire to develop themselves in various discussion forums with the company.

For example, some motorbike taxi drivers want to become car drivers, drivers who want to switch to becoming merchant partners, partners who want to become content creators, and partners who want to continue their education to university.

Therefore, she continued, the company through GrabAcademy is holding training to support capacity building for its partners.

The programme offers learning opportunities and skills development for Grab Indonesia drivers and merchant partners who want to improve their capacity and explore other opportunities within the company’s business ecosystem.

Furthermore, GrabAcademy presents regular online classes and face-to-face training for merchant partners.

Training activities for merchant partners cover materials on shop management, orders and menus, promotion, advertising, customer service, finance, and the use of digital technology.

“To date, 1.15 million driver partners have accessed GrabAcademy, and more than 204,000 have completed all its modules,” said Neneng.

GrabAcademy is now officially launched as a platform for “Partners Moving Up a Class”, which helps partners improve their skills and explore new opportunities.

“This is what we mean by the meaning of unlimited opportunities. So it certainly presents more paths for partners to determine their future,” said Neneng.
