Jakarta, VIVA – Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Grab Indonesia, Neneng Goenadi, confirmed that the company has prepared a budget of up to IDR 100 billion for driver welfare programs. This includes the allocation for Eid bonuses for drivers, which will be distributed before Eid al-Fitr 2026. Neneng stated that this is a realization of the company’s commitment announced in January 2026.

However, she said that the details cannot be disclosed at this time, as the company is still calculating the exact allocation and the number of drivers who will receive the Eid bonus.

“So, stay tuned for the update. We are still in discussions,” said Neneng at a press conference in the Pegangsaan Timur area, Central Jakarta, Thursday, February 26, 2026.

She added that for the driver welfare program, Grab Indonesia will implement it in three stages. The first stage is providing free BPJS Ketenagakerjaan to high-performing drivers. The second stage is related to the provision of Eid bonuses, and the third stage is through the initiation of a program for drivers who have improved their status.

Regarding this, Neneng confirmed that Grab Indonesia has tracked drivers whose lives have changed since working with the company.

“So, regarding those who have improved their status, there are various things, some have moved from two-wheeled vehicles to four-wheeled vehicles, some have their own Grab merchant, or they want to go back to school, that is all possible,” said Neneng.

“So, in total, there are around 3,400 drivers who have become Grab Merchant partners, and there are more than 1,700 Grab Bike partners who have become Grab Car partners,” she said.

Previously, the Minister of Manpower, Yassierli, had hinted at the plan to provide Eid bonuses for online motorcycle taxi and online courier drivers.

“We have had discussions. Alhamdulillah, their response was good, they are committed. It remains to be seen whether it will be in the form of a ministerial circular or a launch event,” said Yassierli at a press conference at his office, Wednesday, February 25, 2026.

However, he said that the announcement has not been made yet, as they are still waiting for the results of coordination with the Ministry of State Secretariat, so that this second Eid bonus scheme can be implemented better than before.
