Grab Indonesia has stated that the sustainability of the digital economy ecosystem depends not only on technology and business growth, but also on the company’s ability to maintain relationships with driver partners and provide adequate social protection. Director of Digital & Sustainability at Grab Indonesia, Rivana Mezaya, said the company continues to open dialogue with partners amidst ongoing complaints regarding tariffs, incentives, and various other operational issues. According to Rivana, Grab views partner input as an important part of the service evaluation and development process. “Grab is always open to constructive input from driver partners and merchant partners, including if there are matters in operational aspects or programme implementation that are deemed to need evaluation,” she said on Tuesday (9/6/2026). She stated that various aspirations can be conveyed through official communication channels provided by the company so they can be followed up according to procedure. In addition to formal channels, Grab has also established several community forums that allow partners to dialogue directly with company management. One such forum is Kopdar, a regular meeting platform for driver partners to discuss daily operational obstacles and provide feedback to the company. The company also has the NGASO forum, which brings together partner representatives with Grab’s highest leadership, including the company’s CEO, in the form of focus group discussions. Through these forums, partners can convey their aspirations directly to decision-makers at the company. Grab has also developed NGERUMPI, or Ngobrol Seputar Masalah Wiramudi, specifically aimed at female partners. Besides being a space to share experiences, this forum provides various training including self-defence, English, entrepreneurship, and other skills that support women’s empowerment. For merchant partners, the company provides the Arisan SERABI community, or Sekumpulan Perempuan Bisa, which focuses on increasing the capacity of women entrepreneurs through financial literacy and digital business training. Additionally, there is Teras PERWIRA, a training, workshop, and open discussion forum for business owners using the GrabMerchant platform. According to Rivana, these various forums are part of efforts to maintain the sustainability of the digital ecosystem involving driver partners, MSMEs, consumers, and the company. At the same time, Grab is strengthening social protection for partners through significant investment in sustainability programmes. The company is allocating Rp 100 billion through its Komitmen Tiga Babak Grab untuk Indonesia programme, aimed at the welfare, appreciation, and social protection of high-performing driver partners. The programme includes providing free BPJS Ketenagakerjaan for more than 200,000 driver partners, the provision of religious holiday bonuses, and various skills enhancement programmes through GrabAcademy. Rivana said social protection is a crucial part of the company’s strategy to ensure partners not only earn an income but also have a safety net when facing occupational risks. In addition to social programme-based protection, Grab operates the Grab Emergency Response and Crisis Engagement Programme, known as GERCEP. Through this programme, partners can obtain emergency medical assistance, post-incident psychological support, operational assistance, and early warning information regarding high-risk areas available in real time through the application.
