GP Parmusi Distributes Free Breaking-Fast Meals to Marginalised Communities and Orphans
Jakarta – The Youth Movement of Islamic Brotherhood of Indonesia (GP Parmusi) launched the Free Happy Breaking-Fast (TBG) programme, targeting marginalised communities, orphans, and street children as part of its Ramadhan social initiatives.
The event took place on Friday, 13 March 2025, at 17:00 WIB, at Pondok Master in Jakarta. TBG represents a tangible expression of GP Parmusi’s commitment towards the most vulnerable groups during the holy month of Ramadhan.
Beyond distributing free breaking-fast meals, the activity also created spaces for meaningful communal discussion for those often sidelined from society. The initiative continues GP Parmusi’s consistent social programmes, including Parmusi Berbagi (Parmusi Sharing), which has reached affected communities across various regions, including Sulawesi.
GP Parmusi volunteers enthusiastically distributed breaking-fast packages directly to beneficiaries.
“TBG is our way of showing care to those most in need – street children, orphans, and marginalised communities who are often forgotten amidst Ramadhan celebrations,” said Kifah Gibraltar Bey Fananie, General Chair of GP Parmusi Central Board, in a statement on Saturday (14 March 2025).
GP Parmusi believes Islamic brotherhood values must reach the streets and extend beyond rhetoric. During this month of mercy, he said, nothing is more noble than ensuring vulnerable brothers and sisters experience the joy of breaking the fast.
The GP Parmusi leadership emphasised that TBG reflects Islamic brotherhood values that transcend discourse and materialise in direct fieldwork, particularly during this blessed month of Ramadhan. The initiative was warmly received by the surrounding community and is expected to inspire other Islamic youth organisations to engage in social service during Ramadhan.
