GP Parmusi Discusses Action-Based Character Building, Prepares Collaboration with Youth and Sports Ministry

The Youth Movement of the Indonesian Muslim Brotherhood (GP Parmusi) held an audience with the Acting Deputy for Youth Services at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Hendro Wicaksono. The meeting served as a momentum to strengthen synergy between youth organisations and the government in promoting the capacity development of Indonesia’s young generation.

Both parties discussed various collaborative opportunities in the youth sector. The discussion included strengthening youth character focused on three values: Gigih (Tenacity), Patriotik (Patriotism), and Empati (Empathy), as conveyed by Hendro.

“Today the Minister of Youth and Sports is focusing on action-based character building encompassing Tenacity, Patriotism, and Empathy,” Hendro said.

Hendro expressed appreciation for GP Parmusi’s initiative in building communication and synergy with the Ministry. He stressed the importance of youth organisations’ role as strategic partners of the government in producing a young generation that is competitive, innovative, of strong character, and capable of making real contributions to national development.

“This is good, especially since GP Parmusi has often created action-based movements such as santri caring for the environment,” he said.

Responding to this, GP Parmusi Chairman Kifah Gibraltar Bey Fananie conveyed the organisation’s commitment to continuously contribute to building a productive, inclusive youth ecosystem based on Islamic values, nationalism, and a spirit of community service. GP Parmusi views collaboration with the Ministry as a strategic step in expanding the impact of youth empowerment programmes across various regions.

“The action-based Character Building idea from Minister Erick Tohir is excellent. We are ready to be collaborators in building character, especially since many santri are our cadres,” Kifah stated.

Through this audience, GP Parmusi hopes the established communication can be followed up with concrete cooperation through various youth programmes with broad impact for the community. The synergy between the government and youth organisations is expected to strengthen the active participation of youth as agents of change, agents of development, and future leaders of Indonesia.
