The Central Leadership of Gerakan Pemuda Ansor has stated full support for the policy of the Government Regulation (PP) Tunas proposed by the Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi). This policy is regarded as a progressive and strategic step in creating a healthy, safe, and productive digital space, particularly for children and Indonesia’s young generation.

The General Chairman of PP GP Ansor, Addin Jauharudin, emphasised that the rapid flow of digitalisation brings two inseparable sides: great opportunities for advancement, as well as serious threats if not managed wisely.

“PP Tunas represents the state’s presence in ensuring that the digital space does not become a wild area that endangers the future of the young generation. This is not merely a regulation, but a long-term investment in the quality of Indonesia’s human resources,” Addin stated in a press release received on 31 March.

According to him, the main challenge for the current young generation is not only access to information, but also the ability to filter, understand, and use information responsibly. Without proper regulation, the digital space can become a medium for spreading negative content, disinformation, and child exploitation.

GP Ansor views the Komdigi PP Tunas policy as having several strategic values. First, child protection in the digital space, providing clear legal protection for children from exposure to harmful content, including violence, pornography, and exploitation. Second, strengthening digital literacy, encouraging increased capacity among the public, especially the young generation, in understanding and utilising technology productively and responsibly. Third, governance of digital platforms, demanding greater responsibility from digital platforms to ensure their algorithms and content do not damage the social ecosystem. Fourth, balance between freedom and responsibility, maintaining freedom of expression alongside ethics, norms, and public interests.

Furthermore, GP Ansor affirmed the organisation’s readiness to support the implementation of this policy through various cadre training programmes, digital literacy initiatives, and social movements at the grassroots level.

“GP Ansor is ready to be a strategic partner to the government in ensuring that PP Tunas does not remain just on paper, but truly benefits society. We will mobilise cadres across Indonesia to become agents of digital literacy and guardians of morals in cyberspace,” Addin added.

Amid global challenges such as technological disruption, social polarisation, and crises of trust, GP Ansor assesses that collaboration between the government, civil society organisations, and the private sector is the key to building a civilised digital ecosystem. GP Ansor invites all elements of the nation to see this policy as a shared momentum in shaping a future generation that is not only digitally adept, but also possesses strong character, tolerance, and integrity.
