GP Ansor to take firm action against those disrupting NU Congress
Allow our scholars and clerics from various regions to formulate the best path for the organisation and its members.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The General Chairman of the Central Leadership of GP Ansor, Addin Jauharudin, has emphasised that he will take action against parties intentionally disrupting the 35th Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Congress at the Tambakberas Islamic Boarding School, Jombang, East Java.
“I am taking over the security control for the Congress. Let us protect the dignity of the organisation. Here, on the land we stand upon, flows the blood of the piety of our founders. Do not defile it with destructive actions. Come, let us protect our roots together,” Addin stated in his remarks in Jakarta on Sunday.
Addin stated that the congress is a noble forum and must not be disturbed by destructive movements. He emphasised that the congress process must proceed according to the schedule determined by the committee.
He issued an ultimatum to those intending to cause unrest, stating that security forces, alongside the entire committee, will take the necessary firm action to restore normalcy.
“This is our highest forum, our noble forum, a forum for us to strengthen our ties to bolster NU in the future,” he said.
As the Security Coordinator for the Congress, Addin is committed to ensuring that scholars, clerics, and representatives from various NU branches can undergo the entire process comfortably and solemnly.
“Therefore, let there be no further disruptions. Allow our scholars and clerics from various regions to formulate the best path for the organisation and its members,” he concluded.
