Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Central Leadership (PP) of Gerakan Pemuda Ansor views the Tunas Government Regulation (PP Tunas) as a progressive and strategic step in creating a healthy, safe, and productive digital space, particularly for Indonesian children.

General Chairman of PP GP Ansor, Addin Jauharudin, emphasised that the rapid flow of digitalisation brings two inseparable aspects: great opportunities for advancement, as well as serious threats if not managed wisely.

“PP Tunas represents the state’s presence in ensuring that the digital space does not become a wild area that endangers the future of the younger generation. This is not merely a regulation, but a long-term investment in the quality of Indonesia’s human resources,” Addin stated in his comments in Jakarta on Wednesday.

According to him, the main challenge for the current younger generation is not only access to information, but also the ability to filter, understand, and use information responsibly.

“Without proper regulation, the digital space can become a medium for spreading negative content, disinformation, and child exploitation,” he said.

GP Ansor views the PP Tunas policy from Komdigi as having several strategic values. First, it provides clear legal protection for children from exposure to harmful content, including violence, pornography, and exploitation. Third, it demands greater responsibility from digital platforms to ensure that their algorithms and content do not damage the social ecosystem. Fourth, it maintains freedom of expression in line with ethics, norms, and public interest.

GP Ansor affirms its readiness to support the implementation of this policy through various cadre training programmes, digital literacy, and grassroots social movements.

“GP Ansor is ready to be a strategic partner to the government in ensuring that PP Tunas does not just remain on paper, but truly delivers benefits felt by society. We will mobilise cadres across Indonesia to become agents of digital literacy and guardians of morals in cyberspace,” Addin said.

Previously, the government through the Ministry of Communication and Digital (Kemenkomdigi) officially implemented Government Regulation Number 17 of 2025 on the Protection and Governance of Electronic System Operators in Child Protection (PP Tunas) on 28 March 2026.
