Gowa Regent Husniah Talenrang has admitted she has never received an invitation for a clarification hearing regarding the inquiry rights session being conducted by the DPRD of Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi. “As of now, there has been none,” Husniah told reporters on Monday (6/7). Nevertheless, she stated she is ready to attend the Gowa DPRD inquiry hearing whenever the special committee schedules and issues the invitation. “We are ready to attend at any time. Because the regional head also has other mandatory activities to follow,” she said. According to Husniah, the regency government and the Gowa DPRD must maintain good coordination so that the inquiry hearing can resolve the current issues. “I still respect my colleagues in the DPRD, in this case the special committee, for carrying out their duties, resolving this matter so it does not spread everywhere and does not negatively impact the Gowa regional government,” she explained. The ongoing Gowa DPRD inquiry rights process is highlighting three issues: alleged abuse of authority in the revocation of doctoral scholarships, alleged irregularities in the procurement of free school uniforms, and alleged disgraceful acts related to the administration of regional governance. Previously, Regent Husniah had also reported the Gowa DPRD inquiry process to the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri) on Thursday (2/7). The complaint was filed by a team calling itself the legal representatives of the Gowa community because the special committee’s material was deemed to have entered the private domain, including allegations of immoral acts that were broadcast live. In addition, Husniah reported a journalist and the Head of the Gowa Transportation Agency to Bareskrim Polri, still in connection with the inquiry.
