The Gowa Regency Government Financial Report (LKPD) has once again achieved an Unqualified Opinion (WTP) from the Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK) South Sulawesi Representative Office. This marks the 14th consecutive time the Gowa Regency Government has attained this prestigious audit rating.

The Unqualified Opinion was received directly by the Regent of Gowa, Sitti Husniah Talenrang, during the handover of the BPK Audit Result Report (LHP) at the BPK South Sulawesi Representative Office in Makassar on Friday (5/6). Husniah emphasised that this achievement is the result of the hard work of all Gowa Regency Government officials and relevant stakeholders.

“This is the result of a collective effort to provide the best for the Goupment of Gowa Regency, particularly in accounting for regional financial management to the public. Every rupiah of the budget we manage must be accountable, not only administratively and legally but also in substance and benefit to the community,” Husniah stated in her remarks on Saturday (6/6/2026).

Nevertheless, Husniah also noted that there were several recommendations contained within the BPK report. She instructed all heads of regional agencies to immediately follow up on these recommendations within the provided timeframe.

“Behind this WTP status, the BPK has provided recommendations that we must promptly address. Let us use this WTP opinion as momentum to drive our spirit to work more cleanly, more transparently, and with greater integrity,” she added.

Meanwhile, the Head of the BPK South Sulawesi Representative Office, Winner Franky Halomoan Manalu, expressed his appreciation to the Gowa Regency Government for its commitment and cooperation throughout the audit process. He explained that the audit was conducted over a 60-day period following the submission of the financial reports by the local government.

According to Manalu, the audit focused on four main aspects: the compliance of financial reports with Government Accounting Standards (SAP), the effectiveness of Internal Control Systems (SPI), compliance with laws and regulations, and the adequacy of information disclosure within the financial reports.

“The data and documents provided were very helpful and submitted on time, which facilitated the testing process. Congratulations to the Gowa Regency Government on achieving the WTP Opinion for the 2025 Fiscal Year LKPD. It is hoped that this can be further improved, particularly in providing the best services to the community,” he said.

He also expressed hope that the recommendations provided would serve as a basis for improvement to further enhance the quality of regional financial management accountability and to realise transparent, accountable, and community-oriented governance.
