Govt told to replace TVRI directors
JAKARTA: House of Representatives Commission I for defense and
information urged the government on Wednesday to replace all
executive directors of the state television station, TVRI, for
their lackluster performance.
In a meeting with State Minister for Communications and
Information Syamsul Muarif here, the commission said to save
TVRI, the government needed to replace the executive directors
with new ones who have a good track record in the country's
oldest television station.
The new management of TVRI should then adjust its programs
with the newly promulgated Law No. 32/2002 on broadcasting, the
commission said.
The commission noted that the state television station's
management had failed to solve internal conflicts. --Antara
