Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The government has set itself a target of US$300 million in the 25th Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) transactions which will be held at the Jakarta International Expo in Kemayoran on October 13-17, 2010, a minister said.
"We hope we can reach the target which is higher than the TEI transactions in 2009 which stood at US$285.4 million," Trade Minister Mari Pangestu said here on Friday.
She said that the government had made preparations for the holding of the expo since early this year, hoping that it would obtain better results than that of 2009.
The expo will display Indonesia`s export products from year to year which are expected to attract domestic and foreign buyers.
"There will be many delegations attending the expo, including 30 representatives of the Indonesian trade offices overseas. There would also be foreign trade attaches who will bring along would-be buyers. We have registered 3,000 prospective buyers who have registered," he said.
The minister explained that in the 25th TEI the government would focus on facilitating communications between business players and small scale producers (UKM) of goods that have export potentials.
She said that business players might use TEI to exhibit their export quality products and attract prospective buyers and potential trade partners at home and from abroad.(*)
