Govt reshuffles state banks' chiefs
JAKARTA (JP): Minister of Finance Mar'ie Muhammad yesterday installed 24 directors, including two president directors, at five state banks in preparation for planned state bank mergers.
Mar'ie said the big reshuffle at the four state banks was a government effort to revive state banks' management teams.
But he said that the planned mergers of state banks was only one reason for the reshuffle. There are seven state banks.
"The planned mergers do serve as one consideration (for the reshuffle)," Mar'ie said after installing the 24 directors.
The 24 directors were installed at Bank Dagang Negara (BDN), Bank Expor Impor Indonesia (Exim), Bank Bumi Daya (BBD), Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) and Bank Tabungan Negara.
Of the 24 newly-installed executives, 15 are new faces in their positions.
They include former Bank Exim president Salahuddin Nya'Kaoy who became president director of BDN replacing Subagyo Karsono who retired.
Kodradi, a former director at Bank Exim, was promoted to president of the bank.
The other new faces are A. Suhaimi Yusuf and Agus Haru Soetanta, -- both new directors at BBD -- and Rudjito, Bambang Sabariman and Bambang Hendrajatin -- new directors at BDN.
Bank Exim's new faces are Sutopo Djokotarbuko, Agus Marijanto Djojomartono, M. Sholeh Tasripan and Hedi Rahadi Salmun, while Roes Haryanto is a new director at BRI, and Siswanto, Wahyudianto and M. Badruszaman are new at BTN.
The old faces are Mochammad Safiudin and Abdul Hadi at BBD, Lukman Nul Hakim and Eduard Coornelis Willem Neloe at BDN, H.A.C. Ratulangi at Bank Exim, D.E. Setiyoso, Sugianto and Prijadi Praptosuhardjo at BRI and Pandamsih at BTN.
Publicly listed Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) reshuffled its directors through an extraordinary shareholders meeting on Tuesday, with Widigdo Sukarman remaining president director.
BNI maintained I Gusti Ngurah Gde Antika as a director but installed five new directors. They are Sunardji Parto Adinoto, Binsar Pangaribuan, Hasan Soeftendy, Agus Daryanto and Saifuddien Hasan.
The government has not yet touched the management of bad loan- ridden Bank Pembangunan Indonesia. So far, no explanation has been given for this. (rid)
