Govt compensates bombing victims

JAKARTA: The government on Thursday provided compensation to
19 victims of the Sept. 9 bombing in front of the Australian
Embassy in Kuningan, South Jakarta.

Families of the nine deceased victims received some Rp 4
million (US$445) each, while those who suffered permanent
injuring in the attack received some Rp 4.5 million.

"We share the grief of the victims and hope that this
compensation can help ease their suffering caused by the
bombing," Minister of Social Affairs Bachtiar Chamsyah said after
a ceremony.--Antara
