Governor to mediate in Temanggung dispute

SEMARANG: Central Java Governor Mardiyanto said on Monday he
would mediate in the dispute between Temanggung Regent Totok Ari
Prabowo and 77 regency officials who issued a motion of no-
confidence against the regent.

The outcome of the mediation process will be presented to the
Ministry of Home Affairs for study before an action is taken in
the matter, the governor said.

Regency officials have demanded the regent's resignation
because of alleged corruption and his perceived arrogance.
