Governor Tabo Assures Security Situation in Papua Pegunungan is Safe
Wamena (ANTARA) - Governor of Papua Pegunungan John Tabo has assured that the security and public order (kamtibmas) situation across Papua Pegunungan is safe and peaceful.
“The kamtibmas situation throughout Papua Pegunungan is on average, or nearly 98 per cent, safe because the coordination and communication we have built with the government and the community is very good,” the Governor stated in Wamena on Tuesday.
According to him, to maintain the kamtibmas situation as safe and peaceful, his side urged the communities in the eight districts to jointly safeguard security stability.
“During this one-year government, the security situation in Nduga Regency, Lanny Jaya, Tolikara, Jayawijaya, Central Mamberamo, and Pegunungan has been safe. There were only minor issues in Yahukimo and Yalimo, but gradually everything will return to normal, and the entire community can carry out activities as usual,” he said.
He explained that communication and coordination continue to be built between the provincial and regency governments to support security stability in the eight regencies.
“We have built good communication so that local governments can be wiser in maintaining and creating a better security situation,” he stated.
He hopes that the local governments of the eight regencies and the security apparatus of the TNI-Polri will jointly maintain the kamtibmas situation throughout Papua Pegunungan.
“We hope that local governments and security apparatus can create a peaceful and safe security situation in a familial atmosphere so that no disturbances occur,” he said.
He stated that to resolve all issues in Papua Pegunungan, it should not be done with violence, but by using a humanitarian approach and love.
