Governor sets max New Year's price

JAKARTA (JP): The highest ticket price for New Year's Eve celebrations has been set at Rp 750,000 by Governor Surjadi Soedirdja.

Those who set higher prices must seek permission from the city's tourism office.

The highest priced tickets are set for four and five-star hotels, and the Jakarta Convention Center, a release from the municipality said.

Tickets for discotheques must not be more than Rp 250,000, and restaurants and other eateries are to charge Rp 200,000 at the most.

Movie theaters may charge up to Rp 75,000 per film.

Organizers of New Year's Eve functions must pay fees of Rp 50,000.

Those who wish to provide door prizes must gain permits from the Ministry of Social Affairs or a recommendation from the city's social affairs office. (anr)
