Governor Pramono Urges Protesters Not to Damage Public Facilities

A group of students held a demonstration in the Bundaran HI area, Central Jakarta. The Governor of Jakarta, Pramlar Pramono Anung, requested that the protesters convey their aspirations appropriately and refrain from damaging public facilities.

“In a democratic country, expressing opinions and protesting is guaranteed by law. As a former activist, I deeply respect and value that. Now, as the Governor of Jakarta, I sincerely hope and request that these aspirations be conveyed in the best possible manner,” Pramono stated at the Jakarta City Hall on Friday (12/06/2026).

“The most important thing is that public facilities are not damaged, disturbed, or harmed,” he continued.

Pramono stated that everyone would suffer if public facilities were destroyed. He warned against any intentional damage to infrastructure.

“Because regardless, if public facilities are subsequently damaged, it is the public itself that suffers the loss. Once again, as the Governor of Jakarta, I expect that the expression of opinions be carried out optimally without committing acts of vandalism against public facilities,” he added.

As previously noted, Pramono inaugurated the Transjabodetabek service for the Blok M-Soekarno-Hatta Airport (SH2) route on Thursday (12/03). For the first three months, the bus fare is set at Rp 3,500 per single trip.

“The Jakarta Provincial Government has decided that for three months, particularly in welcoming Eid al-Fitr, we will maintain the fare at a fixed rate of Rp 3,500,” Pramono said at the Blok M Terminal, South Jakarta, on Thursday (12/03).

Pramono noted that following the three-month trial period, the Jakarta Provincial Government will conduct an evaluation regarding the fare. According to him, the subsidies allocated for this route are quite substantial, meaning the fare may be adjusted in the future.
