Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung, is conducting a working visit to several cities in Asia, namely Shenzhen, Seoul, Tokyo, and Kyoto, from 22–28 April 2026. This visit is part of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government’s efforts to strengthen city diplomacy, expand international partnership networks, and accelerate Jakarta’s transformation towards becoming a Top 50 Global City by 2030.

In the series of agendas in Shenzhen, Pramono is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with local city government leaders and establish strategic cooperation in the transportation sector. One concrete step is the signing of a memorandum of understanding between MRT Jakarta and Shenzhen Metro. In addition, he will attend business forums and artificial intelligence industry discussions to introduce investment opportunities in Jakarta.

Next in Seoul, the visit agenda includes signing cooperation agreements between Jakarta and Jeju, as well as visits to health service facilities as part of benchmarking efforts to improve health service quality in Jakarta, particularly for the development of RS Sumber Waras.

Meanwhile, in Japan, Pramono will hold bilateral meetings with the Governor of Tokyo to strengthen inter-city collaboration, including in the development of green innovation, youth diplomacy, and solutions to urban challenges in the Asian region. He is also scheduled to be a speaker at the G-NETS Leaders Summit 2026 international forum, deliver a public lecture at Kyoto University, and meet with the Asian Development Bank.

“Jakarta is a living laboratory for urban transformation in Southeast Asia. The climate challenges, flooding, traffic congestion, and air pollution we face are not barriers, but drivers of innovation. With cross-city collaboration and support from international partners, Jakarta is ready to grow into a world-class city that is livable and sustainable for all its citizens,” said Pramono.

Through this working visit, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government reaffirms its commitment to strengthening Jakarta’s position as an inclusive, competitive, and sustainable global city through increasingly broad international collaboration.
