Governor Pramono Signs Sister City Agreement and Discusses K-Pop
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SEOUL – During his visit to South Korea, the Governor of DKI Jakarta engaged in several agreements and discussions. Among them, Pramono signed a sister city cooperation agreement with the governor of Jeju. According to Pramono, the agreement encompasses various aspects, including tourism, renewable energy, and the digital economy. In principle, this cooperation aims to develop relations in all aspects, namely between governments, businesses with businesses, and people to people. “I am very pleased; hopefully, the implementation on the ground will run well and bring benefits and good fortune to both parties,” said Pramono on Saturday (25/4/2026) local time. In addition, Pramono met with the deputy mayor of Seoul. He stated that the meeting went well and discussed many things, from serious matters to contemporary issues. He received explanations regarding K-Pop, K-Food, and K-Choreographer. Currently, he said, these issues represent South Korea’s current strengths. “Interestingly, we also discussed one music group, BTS, ARMY, and so on, showing that they are very hopeful the BTS performance in Jakarta later will bring happiness to the people of Jakarta,” said Pramono.
