Gubernur DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung has expressed his condolences following the death of a 16-year-old student from SMAN 6 Jakarta, identified as Neisha Amalia Evrian Putri, who was killed in a traffic accident on Thursday morning (18/6) in South Jakarta. The student fell from a motorcycle after it became entangled in a cable and was subsequently struck by a bus. “Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun. A student named Neisha Amalia Evrian Putri, 16 years old, a 10th-grade student at SMA 6 Jakarta, died yesterday when the motorcycle she was riding pillion was caught by a cable on Jalan Losari, South Jakarta,” Pramono said in Central Jakarta on Friday (19/6).

Pramono stated that he has instructed relevant agencies, including the Transportation Agency, Education Agency, and Bina Marga, to provide full assistance to the family, including support up to the burial process. The Jakarta Provincial Government, through Baznas Bazis DKI Jakarta, has also provided compensation to the family. Additionally, the government facilitated students wishing to pay their last respects by providing three buses and covering the costs.

Based on information he received, Pramono explained that the cable involved in the fatal incident was a disconnected PLN cable. Regarding the legal process, he said he would leave the matter entirely to law enforcement and the family, noting that the family has requested the case be processed according to the applicable regulations. “Because the family understands the law, the grandmother also requested it. As this matter has now entered a private domain, we will allow that,” Pramono stated.

The chronology of the accident indicates that the victim was being driven to school by her father from the Ciledug area. According to Kebayoran Baru Sub-district Head Rachmat Mulyadi, the incident occurred around 5:30 a.m. WIB on Jalan Lauser. The motorcycle’s handlebars reportedly became caught on a cable that was hanging low and protruding into the road, causing the vehicle to wobble and the riders to fall. The pillion passenger was then run over by a school bus and died at the scene.
