JAKARTA — Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has instructed the Civil Police Unit (Satpol PP) to take action against alleged indecent activities at Cawang Urban Forest in East Jakarta, including the installation of CCTV cameras across all municipal parks.

Pramono responded to viral allegations of indecent activities at Cawang Urban Forest by calling on the Civil Police Unit to initiate immediate enforcement measures.

“If the information is correct, I will follow up immediately. I will ask the Satpol PP to clean it up,” Pramono said after attending a communal break-fast gathering at Al Hamid Putra Islamic Boarding School in Cilangkap, Cipayung, East Jakarta, on Saturday (28 February 2026).

He emphasised that surveillance will not be limited to Cawang Urban Forest but will apply to all parks across Jakarta.

“We will treat everything the same way. Including installing CCTV for this purpose,” he said.

Pramono stated that Jakarta will not tolerate public spaces being misused for indecent activities.

“Jakarta cannot have spaces like that,” he asserted.

In a video posted on Instagram account @ijoeel, the recorder alleged that the area is frequently visited by multiple men at night.

“I don’t know why men often gather here. I wonder what they’re here for,” the recorder said in the video.

Cawang Urban Forest has previously attracted scrutiny. In 2023, the area was raided by authorities following allegations of indecent activities. Two access points were permanently sealed by pouring concrete to restrict entry and exit. Camat (District Head) Makasar, Dimas Prayudi, stated that the closure was carried out in collaboration with the East Jakarta Parks and Urban Forest Service.

“We attempted to permanently close two points today by pouring concrete, working together with the Parks Service. After that, there will be monitoring and park management to maximise its function,” Dimas said at Cawang Urban Forest on Friday (27 February 2026).
