Governor Pramono Anung Dispatches Rp442 Million in Baznas (Bazis) DKI Jakarta Aid for NTT Earthquake Victims
The response to the earthquake disaster in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) continues to be strengthened through collaboration between the government, social institutions, the business community and the public. The DKI Jakarta provincial government, together with civil servants, regional bodies, municipal enterprises and business partners, has channelled humanitarian assistance worth Rp5.85 billion to help affected communities in seven areas of NTT. Of this total, Baznas (Bazis) DKI Jakarta Province, together with its CSR partner Yummy Bites, distributed assistance worth Rp442.134 million packaged in 671 logistics packages. The aid is focused on meeting family food needs while supporting nutritional intake for toddlers in the earthquake-affected areas.
The overall assistance was released by DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung at DKI Jakarta City Hall on Thursday (20/8/2026), before being sent to the affected areas by air and sea.
Chairman of Baznas (Bazis) DKI Jakarta Akhmad H Abubakar said the distribution of aid is part of his institution’s commitment to responding to the needs of communities affected by disasters, while strengthening collaboration with various parties. “In a disaster situation, aid must be provided according to the needs of communities on the ground. Therefore, we and our partners are working to provide food and nutrition assistance that can be used immediately, especially by affected families and children,” said Akhmad.
According to him, collaboration is one of the keys to ensuring humanitarian aid can be collected and distributed more quickly and accurately. Therefore, Baznas (Bazis) DKI Jakarta will continue to encourage the involvement of the public and the business community in helping residents facing emergency conditions due to disasters.
The 671 aid packages collected together with Yummy Bites contain a range of food and nutrition items, including baby biscuits, baby porridge, baby cereal, sardines, chicken corned beef, instant porridge, instant noodles and canned rendang. These types of aid are directed at meeting the basic needs of families while maintaining nutritional intake, especially for toddlers who are in a vulnerable condition during the emergency response period.
DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said the dispatch of aid is a form of empathy and concern from the people of Jakarta towards the residents of NTT who are facing the impact of the disaster. “This is part of a sense of empathy, togetherness and humanity, sharing in the feeling from the DKI Jakarta provincial government and the people of DKI Jakarta,” said Pramono.
In addition to food aid, the DKI Jakarta provincial government’s support includes non-food aid, medicines, shelter needs, clean water facilities and cash assistance. The aid is intended for affected communities in East Manggarai, Manggarai, West Manggarai, Ngada, Ende, Sikka and Nagekeo.
The DKI Jakarta provincial government had also sent a health team one day after the earthquake to help provide medical services to affected residents.
The scale of support shows that disaster management does not depend solely on the local government where the incident occurred. Solidarity between regions and the involvement of the private sector and the public are an important part of strengthening response capacity during the emergency period.
The next aid requirements will be adjusted according to developments on the ground and the results of coordination with the NTT provincial government and the teams on duty. The DKI Jakarta provincial government is also still open for aid collection until 25 August 2026.
Collaboration between the government, Baznas (Bazis), the business community, civil servants and the public is expected to ensure the urgent needs of affected residents are met while strengthening the recovery process for the people of NTT after the emergency response period ends.
