Governor Pram urges Paskibraka members to uphold discipline and responsibility
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo has urged 44 members of the Heritage Flag Raising Force (Paskibraka), inaugurated on Thursday, to be disciplined, have integrity, be responsible, and spirited in defending the country.
According to Pram, as he is familiarly known, the inauguration marks a greater responsibility for the Paskibraka members as part of the nation’s next generation.
“This inauguration is certainly not just a ceremony, but an affirmation of responsibility for the nation’s future leaders to possess discipline, integrity, responsibility, and a spirit of willingness to defend the country,” Pramono said at City Hall, Jakarta, on Thursday.
He expressed hope that the values gained during the selection and training process would not cease after the flag-raising duty is completed. Discipline, cooperation, exemplary conduct, and love for the homeland are expected to be continuously applied in daily life.
Pramono also advised the Paskibraka members to maintain a spirit of nationalism, respect diversity, and make Pancasila a guide in social life.
“You, the Paskibraka members, are part of the next generation that will determine Indonesia’s future. Therefore, you must continue to maintain the spirit of nationalism and use the values you have gained as provisions to become people who are useful for the nation and state,” said Pramono.
“Congratulations to all DKI Jakarta Paskibraka members. I hope this duty can be carried out as well as possible and the mandate given becomes something that can be executed with full responsibility,” Pramono added.
Meanwhile, the experience of undergoing selection and centralised training was felt by Shifa Maharani Yasmin, a student at SMAN 67 Jakarta, East Jakarta. She said the process of becoming a Paskibraka member not only trained marching skills but also shaped attitude and ethics.
“To reach this inauguration was certainly not an easy process. So, we are very grateful,” Shifa stated.
On the other hand, Farras Hadyan Pujianto, a student at SMAN 28 Jakarta, hopes the flag-raising duty on 17 August will proceed smoothly.
“Our hope is that on 17 August 2026, we can successfully raise the Red and White Sacred Banner,” said Farras.
