Governor Opens Jakarta Fair 2026 as Prelude to City's 500th Anniversary

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung opened the Jakarta Fair Kemayoran 2026 at the JIExpo Arena in North Jakarta on Thursday, positioning the annual exhibition as a key milestone towards the celebration of Jakarta’s 500th anniversary in 2027. He expressed hope that the fair would become a major icon for the city’s quincentenary, drawing visitors from across the country. “This Jakarta Fair is special because next year the DKI Jakarta Government will celebrate five hundred years of Jakarta. It is a special moment. Not many cities can specifically prepare themselves to welcome five hundred years,” Pramono said. He noted that transaction trends at the fair continue to rise each year and expressed optimism that this year’s total could exceed Rp8 trillion, surpassing last year’s record of Rp7.3 trillion. Siti Hartati Murdaya, President Director of PT Jakarta International Expo and Chair of the Jakarta Fair Kemayoran 2026 committee, stated that the event runs for 32 days from 11 June to 12 July 2026, featuring 2,800 companies across 1,800 stands. The fair is part of the celebrations for Jakarta’s 499th anniversary.
