Governor Mirza Attends Begawi Cinta Lampung 2026 Mass Wedding

A total of 31 prospective bridal couples participated in the Begawi Cinta Lampung 2026 Mass Wedding with the theme ‘Together Presenting Legal and Dignified Marriages’ held at the Al-Bakrie Grand Mosque Ballroom in Bandar Lampung on Saturday, 25 July 2026. The programme is a collaboration between the Lampung Provincial Government, the Al-Bakrie Grand Mosque, the Lampung Province Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the Bakrie Amanah Foundation, and several partners. It aims to facilitate the public’s access to legal marriage services while strengthening family resilience. During the first marriage contract session, Lampung Governor Rahmat Mirzani Djausal acted as a witness for the couple Muhammad Andika and Leli Yuniar. Afterwards, the Governor and the Chair of the Lampung Province PKK Mobilisation Team, Purnama Wulan Sari Mirza, witnessed the marriage processions of the other 30 couples. In his remarks, Governor Mirza stated that organising mass weddings is a form of the government’s commitment to providing services that make it easier for the public to marry officially. He noted that a legal marriage not only provides legal certainty but also serves as the foundation for building a strong family. ‘The government has a duty to provide services that make things easier for the community, including facilitating the marriage process. With a legal marriage, the community will experience many benefits,’ said Governor Mirza. He advised all participating couples that building a household should not only be oriented towards fulfilling material needs but also towards strengthening religious values within family life. ‘It is not the luxury of a house, the amount of wealth, or vehicles that make a household happy. What is more important is the religion that lives within the family. Besides earning a living, husbands must also seek religious knowledge and impart it to their wives and families,’ he said. In addition to instilling religious values, Governor Mirza also stressed the importance of communication as the key to maintaining household harmony. He reminded everyone that every family faces challenges, so the ability to engage in dialogue is a crucial asset in resolving issues. ‘A good household is not one that never faces problems. Every family has its challenges. What makes the difference is how the husband and wife choose to resolve them. Make it a habit to communicate in every issue,’ he explained. He expressed hope that all couples would build families that are sakinah, mawaddah, warahmah and produce righteous generations capable of contributing to the development of Lampung Province. Governor Mirza also conveyed his appreciation to all parties who collaborated to make the Begawi Cinta Lampung 2026 Mass Wedding a success. According to him, the programme deserves to be an inspiration for other mosques in Lampung Province to provide accessible marriage services while supporting the strengthening of family resilience within the community. Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Al-Bakrie Grand Mosque Board in Lampung, Basyaruddin Maisir, said that Begawi Cinta Lampung is not merely a ceremonial activity but the start of a sustainable movement to build sakinah families. He explained that the programme will be followed by various support services, including isbat nikah hearings, pre-marital classes, sakinah family guidance, and family counselling services. ‘We hope this programme will not only produce legally recognised marriages but also create strong, harmonious families that become pillars of community development,’ he said. The Head of the Lampung Province Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Zulkarnain, also appreciated the synergy between the Lampung Provincial Government and the Al-Bakrie Grand Mosque in providing free mass wedding services to the public. He advised all couples to build their households by accepting and complementing one another. ‘No human is perfect except the Prophet Muhammad SAW. Therefore, husband and wife must accept and complement each other in building a family,’ he concluded.
