The 2026 Economic Census (SE2026) in Bali officially began on Monday (8/6/2026). Bali Governor Wayan Koster became the first respondent in the data collection, marking the start of the census implementation in the province. The SE2026 will be conducted throughout all regions of Bali to comprehensively capture the economic activities that form the foundation of regional and national development. The data collection was carried out by officers from the Bali Province Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and witnessed by the Bali Provincial Government (Pemprov) and leaders of the BPS Bali Province. Head of BPS Bali Province, Agus Gede Hendrayana Hermawan, expressed his appreciation for the support from the Pemprov Bali. He also called upon all business actors to participate actively. “This first data collection is an important momentum marking the commencement of the 2026 Economic Census in Bali. The Governor’s support provides encouragement and sets an example for all citizens and business actors to participate in providing accurate and complete data,” he stated in a written release received by detikBali on Tuesday (9/6/2026). Bali Governor Wayan Koster described the SE2026 as one of the national strategic statistical activities whose results will form the basis for future economic development planning. He appealed to the public to provide factual data to ensure the process runs smoothly and successfully. The SE2026 is a complete data collection activity organised by BPS, targeting all existing businesses in Indonesia. Through this census, both local and central governments will gain comprehensive information regarding the structure, characteristics, and development of the business world, from micro and small enterprises to medium and large-scale businesses. The data generated from SE2026 will serve as a crucial foundation for formulating economic policies, developing investment, empowering businesses, creating jobs, and evaluating various development programmes that have been implemented. The first data collection alongside the Governor also marked a moment to strengthen synergy between BPS, regional governments, the business community, and the public in supporting the provision of accurate, up-to-date, and reliable statistical data. With full support from all parties, the SE2026 is expected to run smoothly and produce high-quality data to support sustainable economic development in Bali, in line with the vision of Nangun Sat Kerthi Loka Bali.
