Governor entrusts Hajj pilgrims to pray for NTB's prosperity while in Saudi Arabia
Mataram (ANTARA) - West Nusa Tenggara Governor Lalu Muhamad Iqbal has entrusted the prospective Hajj pilgrims to remember praying for the prosperity of their region while performing the Hajj pilgrimage in the Holy Land of Saudi Arabia.
“May I entrust one message: I entrust prayers for NTB. Who knows, during your Hajj journey at blessed places, perhaps at Raudhah or elsewhere, take a moment to pray for NTB, whether in Arabic, Indonesian, or the local Sasak language, pray for NTB Baldatun Thayyibatun wa Rabbun Ghafur,” he said to the prospective Hajj pilgrims during the send-off of batch 1 from East Lombok Regency at the Lombok Embarkation Point at the NTB Hajj Dormitory in Mataram on Tuesday evening.
Iqbal hopes that the prayers offered by NTB’s prospective Hajj pilgrims will bring the province to a better state, more prosperous, more welfare-oriented, kept away from all disasters, and granted forgiveness and pleasure from Allah SWT.
“So, I entrust this message. That’s the only thing I ask. Don’t bring us Zamzam water or dates. Just pray for NTB, pilgrim. Because what NTB needs is prayer in this kind of situation. May your journey be smooth, granted health in performing the pilgrimage, and return as accepted Hajj pilgrims, God willing. Amen, O Lord of the Worlds,” Iqbal emphasised.
“This is one of the good intentions from President Prabowo in establishing the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah to ensure Hajj pilgrimage services run well,” he stated.
Iqbal then recounted his experiences abroad, whether in Morocco, Turkey, Bahrain, Kuwait, and other Muslim countries. When meeting people from those countries who have performed Hajj, what is always remembered is the Indonesian Hajj pilgrims. They praise Indonesian Hajj pilgrims as neat, clean, full of smiles, disciplined, and friendly.
Therefore, the departure of the Hajj pilgrims to the Holy Land, according to him, is not only to perform the Hajj pilgrimage but also as ambassadors of the Indonesian nation and NTB Province.
Meanwhile, the Head of the NTB Regional Office of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, Lalu Muhammad Amin, said that the number of prospective Hajj pilgrims in batch 1 at Lombok Embarkation is 393 people.
“There are two people whose departure was postponed. However, those postponed were immediately replaced according to the regulations, so batch 1 remains complete at 393 people,” he said.
The total number of NTB prospective Hajj pilgrims departing this year is 5,798 people in 15 batches. Plus accompanying staff of 80 people, making a total of 5,846 people.
