Governor ensures Muarajambi National Cultural Heritage Area will become a new economic magnet
Muaro Jambi, Jambi — Governor Al Haris has ensured that the Muarajemb National Cultural Heritage Area (KCBN) will serve as a new magnet for investment and economic movement in Jambi, driven by tourism, culinary promotion, and other business sectors.
This statement was made by the Governor during the opening of the high-level meeting (HLM) for the Regional Digitalisation Acceleration and Expansion Team (TP2DD) of Jambi Province for 2026, held at the Sriwijaya Dharmakirti Museum in Muaro Jambi Regency on Friday.
“The Muarajambi Temple complex will eventually integrate the existing economy here, ranging from tourism to culinary arts and beyond. This museum is comparable to Borobudur; it is now a matter of how we effectively develop its potential,” said Al Haris.
Through this activity, he emphasised the importance of collaboration and the strengthening of regional potential to drive the economic growth of Jambi Province.
According to him, the development of tourist areas must be accompanied by mature planning to ensure they provide economic benefits to the community while simultaneously increasing investment attractiveness in Jambi.
Al Haris described Jambi as an effective and viable region for investment, based on ease-of-doing-business indicators which are considered a competitive advantage compared to other regions in Sumatra.
“Jambi is an effective and highly suitable area for investment, as its [regulatory] climate is among the lowest in Sumatra,” he remarked.
In addition to developing tourist areas, the Governor encouraged stronger inter-regional collaboration, particularly between Jambi City and Muaro Jambi Regency.
He noted that both regions possess complementary potentials that can support economic growth.
In his analysis, such synergy could serve as a strength in building a more integrated regional tourism and economic ecosystem.
On this occasion, the Governor also expressed his appreciation to Bank Indonesia for its continuous support in strengthening the economy in Jambi Province.
He assessed that the role of the banking sector is vital in driving economic growth, including through support for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
“I would like to thank Bank Indonesia for strengthening the economy in Jambi Province moving forward. The role of the banking sector is extraordinary, and our MSME players also contribute significantly to this entire ecosystem,” he concluded.
