Tangerang (ANTARA) - Banten Governor Andra Soni has ensured that facilities and services at the Grand El-Hajj Asrama Haji Banten in Cipondoh, Tangerang City, have improved following its designation as the embarkation point for Banten’s prospective Hajj pilgrims. “Last year, the Grand El-Hajj Asrama Haji Banten was only a reception point after performing Hajj. This year, it serves as the embarkation for departures. We ensure all facilities are even better,” said Governor Andra after releasing the departure of Banten’s Hajj Cluster 01 pilgrims at the Al Azhom Grand Mosque in Tangerang on Tuesday. He also appreciated the cross-agency synergy in organising this year’s Hajj, particularly the support from relevant ministries and local government. According to him, this year’s pilgrim departure is a historic moment as it is the first time it is conducted through the Cipondoh Hajj Dormitory Embarkation, or Grand Elhajj Cipondoh. Governor Andra conveyed prayers and hopes that all pilgrims be granted health and smoothness in performing Hajj in the Holy Land. “Tonight, I, along with Mr Mayor and the regional office team, are releasing Tangerang City’s first Hajj cluster. Our prayers are that all pilgrims be granted health and smoothness in performing Hajj, and return to the homeland with the title of accepted Hajj,” he said. Tangerang Mayor Sachrudin added that this year is a very joyful moment because, with support from all parties, the Grand El Hajj Hajj Dormitory in Tangerang City has been utilised for departure and return services for Banten’s Hajj pilgrims. “With the presence of this facility, pilgrims no longer need to go to the Pondok Gede Hajj Dormitory, making the service process closer, easier, and more comfortable,” he said.
