Governor asked to swear in regent-elect
KENDARI, Southeast Sulawesi: The Southeast Sulawesi provincial
legislative council called on governor La Ode Kaimoeddin to
swear in Masjhur Masie Abunawas as Kendari mayor and his deputy
Muzakir Mustafa as many local people have demanded.
Hio Biohanis, chairman of the provincial legislature, said the
legislature could not intervene in the executive body's internal
matters but, in their recent plenary session, the provincial
legislative council called on the governor to inaugurate the two
to avoid conflict among local people.
"The governor should install Masyur as new mayor and Muzakir
as his deputy to avoid possible clashes between their supporters
and those supporting candidates defeated in the recent election,"
he said. --Antara
